Position Description:
The incumbent brings an exceptional level of knowledge in the fundamentals of mass transfer and separation technologies, including absorbers, phase separators, extraction systems, filtration, centrifuge, crystallization, adsorption and membranes. He/she is considered Aramco’s foremost expert on separation technologies and equipment. He/she is instrumental in the scale-up and deployment of separation solutions – from bench scale to industrial use. At our state-of-the-art Research and Development Center (R&DC) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, we conduct pioneering research, introduce new technologies, and provide specialized technical services through development and implementation of IR4.0-enabling technologies.
This influential leadership role has been created as a direct result of Saudi Aramco’ s digital vision to solidify our position as the world’s leading digitalized energy corporation, maximizing shareholder value, and spearheading digital innovation in energy globally. The Senior Research Consultant will lead the growth and strategic development of our existing Intelligent Systems, Advanced Sensors, and Modelling & Prediction R&D teams, which will focus on cross-Company challenges related to IR4.0 with initial emphasis on asset integrity. Additionally, this role may be responsible for onsite leadership and oversight of multiple research teams, as well as interactions with strategic university partners. Minimum Requirements:
• M.S. in science or engineering (a Ph.D. is preferred)
• 20+ years of progressive professional experience, including at least 10 years as a specialist with full responsibility for supervising major technical work, gaining recognition as a leading expert in IR4.0-enabling fields, such as digitalization, modeling, machine learning, programing, prototyping, AR/VR, mobile development, and/or AI.
