Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
- Ensuring that Vessels Planned maintenance system is being operated and reported in the manner prescribed in the companies QA system.
- Liaising with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers as required and providing technical advice and assistance when necessary.
- Ensuring that vessels continue to meet the standards and criteria required by Clients.
- Ensuring that all mandatory procedures i.e. Tool box talks, Risk assessments, permits to work, hot work permits etc, are used effectively and filed for audit purposes, for both onshore and vessel in port activities.
- Participating in the S.A.F.E-R Card program and stopping and reporting any unsafe acts, but also reporting on good safe working practices observed.
- Liaising with the Purchasing department and ensuring that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner, and reporting to the Senior Superintendent when delays have the potential to impact on vessels operational capabilities.
- Undertaking regular inspections and presentations on Company owned and managed vessels as per annual QHSE Plan schedule and compiling reports accurately indicating vessels current equipment, machinery, structural and operational status.
- Coordinating and supervising vessel in service repairs, utilizing approved sub-contractors as required. To ensure all such repairs are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner and within the vessel’s set operational budget.
- Assisting with preparing accurate and comprehensive vessel dry-dock specifications and to supervise dry-dockings and repairs to completion as directed. Dry dockings and repairs may take place at a location remote from normal place of work.
- Liaising with repair yard management, sub-contractors, Class and Administration to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with agreed specifications and time schedules.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Chief Engineer in compliance with STCW
- Minimum 3 years of sea experience as chief engineer of offshore support vessels;

- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to work under pressure;
- Strong Leadership skills and experience of managing a fleet of approx. 40 offshore vessels is very important.

Ensure the Company’s Safety Culture is promoted and maintained to the highest possible standards, in all locations, through;
• Active engagement with all employees on HSE-related issues
• Promoting open dialogue between all employees and departments on means to drive and improve
• Participating in & providing input to HSE-related meetings and inspections
• Actively promoting the Company’s Control of Work processes and safe working practices
Ensure all QHSSE-related services and support are delivered via hands-on engagement with vessels and worksites;
• Actively partake in safety meetings, to encourage constructive discussion and drive engagement
• Ensure all vessels and worksites are visited as frequently as possible, with Management Visit Reports being submitted and followed-up
• Assist vessels and worksites in the safe management of tasks, implementation of Control of Work systems and maintenance of all safe working practices
Undertaking, reporting and managing actions arising from vessel audits & inspections, to provide oversight of:
• On-board safety & vessel management
• Level of crews’ safety culture & safety awareness
• Effectiveness of on-board SMS implementation
