LEAD ESTIMATION ENGINEER – ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT

PURPOSE & SCOPE

Present position is for an Estimator role in ‘Engineering Department’ and the incumbent shall be responsible for estimate preparation during all phases of engineering development viz. Select phase to the final FEED package having estimates for EPC works. Accordingly, the candidate is expected to possess necessary experience and skills for Class 5 to Class 1 estimation techniques depending on the maturity level of project definition.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of in-house cost database from executed projects, budgetary quotes, and other relevant data
  • Ensure company procedures / client procedures are adhered to
  • Review of FEED design / Tender documents
  • Organise / take part in Estimation initiation & review meetings
  • All in-house co-ordination for preparation of estimates (Select and FEED phase as well as bid phase) including follow-up, collection of input from various sub-contractors or 3rd party.
  • Clear understanding of work scope & best estimation with respect to execution of project.
  • Responsible for review/preparation of OME (Order of magnitude estimate) before onward submissions.
  • Ensure that commercial submissions to tenders are fully complied with all necessary details.
  • Responsible to verify detailed MTOs (quantity take-off) from FEED / tender documentation.
  • Ensure the Estimate is built up methodically and in sufficient detail and is in accordance with good estimating practice. Sufficient explanatory notes are to be included referring to the location of supplementary information.
  • Ensure completeness of Subcontract Enquiry Packages.
  • Ensure the Indirect Cost Estimate is correctly prepared
  • Assist Engineering / Proposal Manager in the identification, evaluation and ranking of risks as well as developing a strategy to manage and mitigate the risks to the Company. R&O Matrix is to serve as the basis for estimating an appropriate contingency allowance for inclusion in the Cost Estimate.
  • Ensures the Estimate Basis is “Current Costs” and escalation is properly covered. Wherever possible a good value of estimated contingencies to be captured. This is to be separate from the R&O Analysis/Contingency Sum Calc.
  • Present to Engineering Manager for review the Cost Estimate in detail prior to review of the Select phase or EPC cost estimate or tender by Management.
  • Assist Engineering Manager with the preparation of a list of clarifications and qualifications to the proposal.
  • Past experience of similar nature in oil & gas Contracting Organisation in Concept, FEED, EPCI and T&I business

Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • A recognized BS, MS degree, Diploma in Engineering or Quantity Surveying in a related field is preferred.
  • AACE or equivalent accreditation via Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification should be stated but not a requirement.
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification industry experience
  • Proven skills in developing internal cost database

PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (FIELD DEVELOPMENT PLANNING)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.Sc. / B.E. in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas plants, Upstream & Midstream, Gas Processing, Petroleum Refineries Design and Engineering, out of which minimum 6 years should be in LDE role during Field Development Planning, Concept, FEED and Engineering stages.
  • Experience in building Field Development Planning (FDP) models to assist oil & gas company decision makers in making well-informed business decisions, and achieving their business objectives.
  • Shall be proficient in option framing / identification, risk analysis, cost estimation and economic evaluation
  • Establishing the suitability of the existing technologies, control systems and instrumentation for field life extension
  • Prepare Field Development Planning Report and cost and execution strategy, as appropriate.
  • Provide process input to field change proposals (FCP’s).
  • Identify & pursue opportunities to optimize utilization or de-bottleneck existing assets as appropriate incorporating new understanding of reservoir and well performance, changes in development planning and schedules, and economic criteria
  • Performing techno-economic analysis, use of asset development software so that various development options can be compared on the basis of an area-wide project value.
  • Experience with unconventional resources in a reservoir, field development, or completions capacity
  • Good knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards

OTHER AREAS

  • Review of specialized Process Studies such as Flow Assurance, Depressurizing Studies.
  • Knowledge and expertise in review and guiding process-engineering simulation studies using HYSYS is essential.
  • Skills in routine process calculations and use of process software and in-house developed spreadsheets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Asset Development Software, Aspen HYSYS, UNISIM, PRO/II and/or similar software platforms including Steady state and Dynamics simulations is desirable
  • Experience in PROMAX, PIPESIM, OLGA, PVTSim, Multiflash, etc. is preferable

Principal Civil & Architectural Engineers (FEED)

We are looking urgently for Principal Civil & Architectural Engineers (Conceptual Design and FEED) with below mentioned minimum requirements. All positions will be Abu Dhabi Based for long term employment at NPCC Main office. A competitive remuneration package will be offered with expats benefits. 1. PRINCIPAL CIVIL DESIGN ENGINEERS (FEED

  • M.S. Civil Engineering-structural engineering option from a well recognized international university
  • Strong technical background in structural analysis and design (concrete and steel), materials, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry onshore projects setup as a whole.
  • Familiar with international standards such as American, British and EUROPEAN etc.
  • Familiar with major oil/gas clients in Abu Dhabi and Aramco standards.
  • Strong knowledge of state of the art softwares.
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Good usage and familiarity of state of the art design softwares. Including 3D modeling, design softwares , fabrication softwares and data transfer among them
  • Conversant with Microsoft office softwares.
  • Capable of working in a state of the art engineering office for an EPC contractor where quality deliverables have to be issued in a short time.
  • CAPABLE OF MAKING PRESENTATIONS AND ATTENDING WORKSHOPS
  • Excellent command of technical writing including written and spoken English languages.
  • 20 years of FEED/EPC contractor experience with minimum 10 years on FEED studies with balance as LDE design.

2. PRINCIPAL ARCHITECTURE (ONSHORE +OFFSHORE) FEED

  • B. Sc. In architecture from a well-recognized university .
  • 15 years of experience in architectural design and detailing of oil and gas industrial type buildings with minimum 5 years  in FEED.
  • Strong technical background in architecture with good interface knowledge of other disciplines. .
  • Familiar with international codes and standards for building such as SOLAS, IBC, IMC, IPC, etc..
  • Conversant with architecture design softwares.
  • Strong knowledge of state of the art softwares.
  • Conversant with microsoft office softwares.
  • Capable of working in a state of the art engineering office  for a FEED contractor where quality deliverables have to be issued in a short time.
  • Experience in subcontractor scope of work, evaluate subcontractor offers, raise technical clarification and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Experience in accommodation building design and coordination activities like : general arrangement plan, galley area design, common toilet and changing room, laundry, hospital areas, recreation area, Office layout, Camp layout and Landscape architects.
  • Experience in Building services system like: heating/cooling/ventilating systems, Plumping, Water supply, Electrical and IT.
