Lead Structural Engineer

Lead Designer – Structural is required to ensure that the engineering design is complaint with customer’s Technical Specifications, Design Basis and all relevant national and international rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilites -Work activity planning, distribution, monitoring and checking for the development of Design & construction drawings for Structural and Outfitting works like foundations, platforms, helideck, LQ, etc.

Supervise larger teams of Draftsman and Designers.

Work in multiple projects and shall prepare structural detail drawings and material take-off’s based on Basic Design drawings / sketches provided by Designers and Engineers.

Ensure the deliverables meet customer’s Technical Specifications, Company standards, requirements of production and other statutory regulations.

Maintain high technical quality in drafting with consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction.

Act as checker on design related deliverables.

Work on 3D model and/or 2D package following drafting standard, maintaining clarity, quality and completeness of details.

Performs periodic overall model reviews to assure level of content. Participate in 3D model review as required

Reviews for overall completeness, general safety issues, access, materials handling scheme is being adhered to, maintenance and operability, etc.

Work with 3D CAD Coordinator to assure that project is closed out properly upon completion.

Prepare MTO.

Perform any Designer functions of previous levels.

Ensure interdisciplinary and management review, check, and approval of design deliverables.

Establish company standards in conjunction with Engineering.

Review and update discipline design guidelines and standards.

Plan and schedule team activities.

Work with clients on conceptual design.

Estimate drawing quantities for design deliverables.

Experience in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and/or Ship Constructor/AVEVA Marine for 3D Hull and/or PDMS/TEKLA for 3D outfitting / structural modeling or equivalent.

Experience in plate/profile nesting and CNC program, preferable.

Good communication skills (both written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.

Overall Purpose of Role:

Coordinates Procurement activities within Procurement operations satisfy project requirements and conform to established business unit, procurement and corporate policies, instructions, procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities:

Ensures that Procurement operations satisfy project requirements and conform to established business unit, procurement and corporate policies, instructions, procedures in functional areas including:

1. Field Purchasing

2. Field Expediting

3. Field Supplier Quality services

4. Field Traffic & Logistics

5. Field Materials Management to include receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, physical security and issuance of materials.

6. Disposal of surplus materials and equipment

Plans, directs, coordinates and monitors personnel actions for Procurement staff assigned to Project.

Ensure materials are purchased from the most competitive vendor based on the criteria of Quality, Delivery and Cost and within budget to optimize the operating units profitability.

Materials and supporting documentation are delivered in accordance with the requirements of the project schedule.

Purpose of Role:

Ensure that all purchasing related activities are carried – out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities:

Basic Functions:

Perform the procurement material in support of LEL’s business activities in accordance with Company’s policies, procedures and ethical standards to ensure that;

1. RFQ process is fair- open – ethical

2. Review material requisitions for accuracy of information including delivery leadtime – Required On Site dates (ROS)

3. Ensuring materiel meet the required standards and specifications and is fit for purpose for which it is proposed

4. Materiel is purchased from the most competitive source based on the criteria of Quality (fit for purpose), Delivery (leadtime) and Lowest Cost option and is within budget to optimize the operating units profitability

5. Materiel and supporting documentation is delivered in accordance with the requirements of the project schedule

6. Purchase Orders contain accurate data.

Internal interfaces include Engineering, Project Management Teams, Operations Group, QA/QC, Accounting and Proposals.

Main internal client is project construction management.

External interface includes; Vendors, Sub vendor and client as required.

Ensure timely issue of RFQ to selected vendors.
